E-Pantry

The E-Pantry Program supplements other hunger-relief agencies in areas of high need. Through E-Pantry, a van full of individually packed food orders are distributed to clients in early evening hours, allowing those who are employed during the day to pick up food when their workday ends.

This unique program, launched by The Foodbank in late 2019, offers an online marketplace where those in need of groceries can select from a predefined list of non-perishable food items. The Foodbank team processes the orders and delivers them for pick-up at designated distributions sites in Montgomery and Greene counties twice weekly. On average, the E-Pantry Program serves 70 households and feeds more than 250 people in our community each month.

The E-Pantry Program is available to any household living at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level. While it is not intended to operate permanently within a community, this program is instrumental in helping families transition to more constant resources, such as an area food pantry.

E-Pantry is a nimble method of food distribution and an efficient means of providing temporary food relief in areas of great need.
